Breakdown of Characters

Cast consists of five actors and two actresses, with multiple casting.

JOSH, 40s, handsome charismatic spiritual lecturer

KEVIN, 30s, handsome and emotional, a nurse

WILEY, 50s, dominating and outspoken minister

MARGARET, early 50s, pronounced mood/personality swings
    (has D.D.-N.O.S.—a condition explained in the play)

MALCOLM, 30s, brazen and sexual gay man; 
ADAM, 30s, well-ordered and self-contained; 
HANK, 30s, constricted, Wiley’s son
    (NOTE: Malcolm, Adam, and Hank are all played by one actor)

SALLY, early 30s, plain but earnest, Hank’s wife

MATTHEW, early 20s, blond and delicate features; 
BAXTER, early 20s, dark-haired and troubled
    (NOTE: Matthew and Baxter are played by one actor)

 

Minor characters are doubled as follows:
BLUE STATES CUSTOMS AGENT, REPORTER, and DR. CORDREY are doubled by “Sally” actress)

RED STATES CUSTOMS AGENT is doubled by “Kevin” actor

BLUE STATES PRESIDENT is doubled by “Margaret” actress

RED STATES PRESIDENT is doubled by “Wiley” actor

DR. SPENCER is doubled by “Josh” actor

Every attempt should be made to create distinct looks for doubled characters, so they do not appear to be the same actors...except for Malcolm/Adam/Hank, who should all look like the same person.
