In Memory of Jerry Florence |
I was fortunate enough to sing one Christmas season with a group called Alliance.
It was presided over by a brilliant musician named Jerry Florence, who wrote most of the music and did all the arrangements. This is Jerry’s arrangement of "O Holy Night," recorded live at one of the concerts. (Yeah, that’s me on the "sweet hymns of joy" thing.) I really love the feel of this arrangement, albeit humble in orchestration and recording quality.
I include it here as a tribute to Jerry, a man of great warmth and talent, who left the body in 1994.
